A small group of speech-language pathologists are selected to be a part of the Camp Shout Out program each year.  Training for professionals begins prior to camper arrival and continues throughout the entire camp experience.

Learning objectives include:

  1. Execute evidenced based therapy strategies across Five Areas of Focus of Communicative Competence with children who stutter
  2. Problem solve therapeutic interactions referencing a set of Eleven Basic Principles
  3. Implement data collection procedures at the beginning and end of camp
  4. Educate caregivers regarding campers’ progress and exit plans

Participants have come from Michigan, Alabama, Arkansas, Massachusetts, Maryland, California, Colorado, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, Wyoming, Minnesota, Montana, New York, Iowa, Virginia, Nevada, Kansas, New Jersey, Missouri, Texas, Washington, Illinois, Canada, New Zealand, and South Korea.
