A small group of speech-language pathologists are selected to be a part of the Camp Shout Out program each year. Training for professionals begins prior to camper arrival and continues throughout the entire camp experience.
Learning objectives include:
- Execute evidenced based therapy strategies across Five Areas of Focus of Communicative Competence with children who stutter
- Problem solve therapeutic interactions referencing a set of Eleven Basic Principles
- Implement data collection procedures at the beginning and end of camp
- Educate caregivers regarding campers’ progress and exit plans
